3D Builders, LLC was formed in February 2008
3D Builders, LLC was formed in February 2008 by three partners, each of whom brings a unique expertise to the mix to encourage one another’s personal growth and to ensure the success of the company. The team’s vast experience is well-known throughout the region, and the 3D Builders name has come to stand for trustworthiness, dedication, and commitment.
Shelly Gustin
Owner
Shelly Gustin grew up in a small town south of the Twin Cities metro, always “playing architect” and drawing houses. (Her mom recently found some of her original plans, which are available to see upon request.) Shelly studied at NDSU and earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture in 1995. After working for an Architect outside of Fargo, she and her husband moved to Southwest Minnesota in 1997. Shelly worked for Bill Eich Construction as a designer and project coordinator until 3D Builders opened in 2008. Shelly and her husband Shannon have two children, Hunter, a student at NDSU in Fargo and Nicole, a student at JCC High School. Shelly enjoys reading, scrapbooking and working in her yard in her spare time.
Mark Moorman
Owner
Mark Moorman has over 30 years in the construction industry, and another five as a land surveyor. He has managed a variety of jobs, from small kitchen remodels to million dollar multi-family condominium projects. Mark dedicates himself to bringing his jobs in on-schedule with all the details completed to the client’s satisfaction. Mark and his wife Mary live in Wallingford in a home he built for their family. They have three grown sons, Chris (Seattle), Eric (Minneapolis) and Alex (St. Louis). Mark has spent countless hours as a junior high and high school wresting referee, is involved in many local youth hunts, and is a member of the Iowa Great Lakes Bass Club (past president). Mark spends his free time in the great outdoors—bass fishing, bow hunting, and chasing pheasants with his bird dogs, Thor + Loki.
Mike Peschon
Owner
Mike Peschon started doing general construction labor in 1974 as a high school freshman. He moved to Spirit Lake in 1977 and began a building career that has spanned more than 36 years. Mike takes great pride in creating eye-catching details in both interior & exterior elevations. Mike served on the Spirit Lake Booster Club for six years, has coached little league baseball & softball for over 20 years, & has donated countless hours building concession stands, dugouts, press boxes, and bleachers at local sports complexes. Mike and his wife Linda have been married for over 40 years and have three children, Jodi, Mitch and Olivia. Jodi and her family live in Texas. Mitch and his wife are teachers at West Lyon in Larchwood. Olivia is a student at the University of Iowa. In his spare time, Mike enjoys using his metal detector to return lost rings to their owners.
Our crew is the foundation of our success.
We are very proud of our crew, and we know we could not be successful without them. Our team consists of highly skilled carpenters who have worked together for many years, and we like to think of them as extended family.
